Tanjung Rhu Beach

Situated gracefully on the enchanting northeastern corner of Langkawi, Pantai Tanjung Rhu draws its name from the majestic casuarina trees that elegantly adorn its shoreline. Derived from the Malay language, ‘Pantai’ translates to the beach, ‘Tanjung’ signifies a cape, and ‘Rhu’ symbolizes the magnificent Casuarina tree.

This picturesque destination offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty and cultural significance, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquil ambience while basking in the breathtaking views and rich heritage that Pantai Tanjung Rhu has to offer.

Sunset Views and Island Walks

As the sun dips, Tanjung Rhu transforms into a canvas of pink, orange, yellow, and grey hues—perfect for sunset aficionados. The low tide phenomenon here even allows adventurous souls to walk across to Pulau Chabang, a nearby island.

Exploration Beyond the Beach

You can go on a boat tour from the beach jetty to Kilim Geopark and Mangrove forests. Motor boats are also available for hire to visit the nearby islands with ancient limestone formations. Gua Cherita, the caves of legend, can also be accessed here.

Amenities and Accessibility

Although Tanjung Rhu is a public beach, there are no toilets or changing rooms available, and only 450 metres of the beach is open to the public. The rest of the beach is shared by two luxury resorts, the Tanjung Rhu Resort and the Four Seasons. For a snack or a drink, it is best to bring your own or head to one of the restaurants inside the resorts.
